Bilsdale

The Bilsdale hunt enjoyed a well supported days racing this weekend, after a great effort was put into maintaining the ground, which resulted in a fantastic days racing, with the Sutcliffe family coming out on top with a double, where both sisters Luci and Kate Sutcliffe rode a winner.

Their double began in the opening Hunt Members race and the only two runners were that of the Sutcliffes, with Katie coming out on top aboard Forsomeonelikeyou, after a long duel throughout with Allborn Lad partnered by sister Luci.

The second winner was with Nile Moon in the Novice Riders race piloted on this occasion by Luci Sutcliffe. Settled towards the rear, the pair made good headway through out, getting the better jump at the last and staying on powerfully to win, whilst Maddison De Vonnas was well clear turning for home, but his stamina began to waver after the last and weakened into third, whilst Wantage Road stayed on strongly for second.

The third race was the 4,5,6 and 7yo Maiden race and went the way of Adin Abroad partnered by Will Milburn who was recording his first success between the flags. The pair disputed the lead with My Clementine till four out where the pair quickened away and stayed on powerfully to win by a healthy ten lengths, My Clementine was second, whilst favourite Cherry's Bay was disappointing in third. Trained locally by Andrew Nicholls whose last winner was five years ago at this same meeting, Adin Abroad was purchased in Ireland from Damien Duggan and has shown potential all season and only now that she has learnt to settle better has she shone.

Oliver Greenall was also on form on the day where he recorded a treble, after standing in for injured brother Tom. His first win came on the extremely quirky but very talented Sea Senor in the Mixed Open, the pair led all the way and stayed on well after the last to hold off the staying on Over To Joe, whilst Think Lucky threatened briefly two out, but stayed on for third.

Oliver's second win was in the Confined race and saw On Holiday become the first 4yo to win three point to points. Always going well, the pair were clear two out and stayed on in good fashion to win. Knoxhill Archie received a power packed ride from Guy Brewer to get up into second, whilst Charlies Memory showed some of his better form back in third.

Oliver completed his hat trick in the final race with Cosmic, the pair came to challenge between the final two fences and stay on strongly to beat Buckshaw, who looked the winner turning into the straight, however yet again lacked finishing pace, with Sprout running another creditable race back in third.

The Restricted saw a fantastic ride from leading jockey Guy Brewer, Nothing Left and Guy Brewer were neck and neck with the favourite Jumeirah Jane and Colm McCormack over the last two fences, but Guy gave a never say die effort up the straight to win by the narrowest of margins. Jumeirah Jane was second with Saddlers Mot and Gemma Tutty running well back in third.
