Despite the wet conditions during the week, the course at Trebudannon dried off enough for the Four Burrow to hold their second point to point meeting of the year there - and racegoers witnessed come excellent racing, although stamina was to the fore.

Lucy Gardner added two more wins to her season's tally at the meeting sending out her own Call Out to win division two of the two and a half mile maiden for five six and seven year old horses. Favourite Tight Corner (Tim Dennis) had to settle for their third second place in a row. Gardner went on to pair up with her aunt, Roma Cook's Hasten Bak to take the Confined. Hasten Bak, trained near St Austell, has bounced back to form and relishes a slog in the soft ground.

The area's leading rider Richard Woollacott, 11 wins, is in electric form at the moment and so are his girlfriend Emely Thompson's horses - the couple paired up to turn out Finewood to take the men's open and Polligiana to take the Restricted. The open was one of the best seen this season with a handful of horses jumping the last upsides, Finewood beating Frontenac by a neck.

There was a surprise in the ladies' open when Sandy Duff, five wins this season, was beaten by a horse which had only previously won a maiden with a jockey putting up overweight. Sue Young flew the Cornish flag when she got the Jackie Du Plessis' trained Miss Ziggerson home with eight lengths to spare. Miss Ziggerson is by veteran stallion Sula Bula who stands at Valerie Graham's Cross Park Stud, near Ashburton.

The Open maiden was an out and out battle between brothers Mark and Tim Dennis. Mark got the neck verdict on Jemanette, beating Tim (Jaunty Janner) with Andrew Glassonbury just a length back in third on Mr Lehman.

The first division of the younger horses maiden was won by Liam Heard on Horizon Hill, a five year old trained by Tony Boon, who had shown early season form before a fall last time out.
