Ellis sells winner of Maiden British Point-to-Point following impressive debut
Itsnonofurbusiness was an eye-catching winner of a Maiden for 4, 5 & 6 year olds in the fastest time of the day at Horseheath on Sunday 5th February for trainer, Tom Ellis and he has been sold privately this week for an undisclosed sum; he will now go into training with Dan Skelton.

The 5 year old bay gelding is by Flemensfirth out of Moon Storm and was owned jointly by Tom and Chris Jones, having been purchased from Ireland during the summer of 2016 on behalf of Tom and Chris by Louise Cooper Joyce Bloodstock.

When interviewed after the race at Horseheath, Tom had indicated his desire to sell the gelding - who was ridden by his wife, three times National UK Ladies Point-to-Point Champion, Georgina Andrews - and he also commented that Gina said it was the best young horse that she has ridden.

Tom and Gina train point-to-point horses from their stables at Heath Barn, which is just outside Marton in Warwickshire. The couple have plans in place to source more young horses; they also offer breaking and training facilities as well as hunter liveries and they have a successful racing club– The Ice and a Slice Racing Club.

They have had 6 winners already this season from a total of 22 runners, a very healthy strike rate of 27.2%, and 4 of the winners were making their seasonal debut. Gina's brother, Jack Andrews and novice rider, Kate Gowing are also based at the yard.
